    Once I've rendered a DNxHD should I be able to look at it in QT? When I try that I get mostly noise.

    Do you ahve the Avid QT DNx codec's installed ?

    go to www.avid.com/red

    on the Avid resources tab, you can download the correct DnxHD codecs.
