problem with cf card 16GB

I put the 16GB cf card into the camera, the camera showed ERROR, something like, not recognized magazine...only 2k.... I tried to format the card, the camera start format and continue format on and on... after 5 minutes that nothing happened, it continue to show format, I reboot the camera.
I put the card again and now the camera doesn't recognize the card, there is no response. With other cards, everything is ok. but with this 16GB red card, no response...
I have build17 and upgrade cf card module.
I use this card in the past, and it was ok.
any idea what can I do?
I tried to put the card into pc computer, and also nothing...

Sounds like a faulty card that will need to be sent in to us for eval. I would contact tech support via RED.com.

Alex, what do you meant by reinstalling the CF Module? The module is a hardware. Are you replacing it with a new one or just unplug and plug? Lim

Hey guys,

Any news on this? .. we are having a problem reading our RED 8gb cards in the camera as well. Would be great if we could just re-seat the CF module or something rather than sending it halfway round the world to be repaired :/

If you are handy with a 2.5mm hex key, remove the four screws from your CF MODULE (panel that says RED) and remove their four washers. Remove the panel. CF reader/writer will be connected to camera by two wire bundles. Confirm the two wire bundle connectors are properly connected to reader/writer. When done, reverse process to put panel back on.

Note, if you are changing your reader/writer (ie, you bent a pin or something), follow same steps - but after removing panel, remove the two wire bundles (be careful to not pull directly on the wires, but rather on the connector). Remove the three screws on reader/writer, swap reader/writer. Reverse instructions to complete.
