  1. #1 RED CINE won't browse
I have a project going in RED cine. I have exported the files from Crimson into RED Cine. So at this point, have the all the R3D files i am using in my edit open, but no timed right. I then go to open xml file in RED cine to coordinate my edits with my footage. When I click "open", I do not get the option to browse for the xml file. All the volumes and folders don't expand into a list of files and folders for me to choose from. Hence, I am not able to open the XML.

If I cut my EDL in half in Crimson, I can open and then browse my XML files, but then my XML file will not open - "failed to load construct" it says.

I have attached the log file for anyone to look at and try to discern what may be going on.

I have done this a million times with no problem. Am I missing something?

    Known bug in Redcine.
You can't go over 100/120 cuts in your Xml... Doesn't work.

    Please, correct my written english.
I'm still learning, and I need your help.
    Thanks in advance.

I just had this happen, too. This is absurd.
I just bought Crimson, tempted by the idea that I could grade my whole SHORT in Redcine at the same time- but if this 100 or 120 cuts thing is true, I'll have to divide it into 3 or 4 pieces. WTF? This is a 25 minute movie- I don't want to have to do it in batches.

    Known bug... who knew?

It's that 12000 frame file. Unfortunately it isn't as easy as 100-120 cuts; it's 100-120 R3D segments - the Crimson route requires loading the entirety of that 12000 frame (multi-segment) file multiple times, which overloads the limit.

You need to go smaller again.

For most work like this, we've abandoned REDCINE and moved to Monkey/Redline.

Same issue.. It'd be great if this was fixed in redcine. It'd also be great if crimson developed a fix for this.

I don't want to shell out more money for monkey extract.. though it may end up being worth it.

I'm trying out clipfinder right now.. renders entire takes unfortunately, but will conform back to the xml.. and it's free. although it has to render over 12 times the amount of footage than crimson would have in this situation.. which is a major drag.

    Hey fellas...

Crimson has been running Redline since May 08. And there is no clip limit. Check the frame, color and Redline tabs.
