Ok guys, now that we have a working importer for r3d, what do you guys think about a player for r3d so you can just double click an r3d like any other media file on your PC and watch it.

Nay? YAY? what say you working pros on something like this....

I know I want it, just wondering of all of the folks are happy with only looking at r3d files in an editor at this point.

This wont let you play it in media player but its a good start:

Windows based only: This allows you to preview the first frame as an image while browsing in windows explorer. Going into mouse2--> Properties allows you to see meta data and scrub through frames.

If you needed to use red footage in another player, I believe you can frameserve an AVI file out of VirtualDub.

The Red Plugin for Virtual dub is here : http://arenafilm.hu/alsog/vdr3d/

You can Read about Frame serving in virtual dub here: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/cap...meserving.html

Good luck. It sounds like its alot more trouble than it's worth. Just stick to your editing software.
