How do I turn on the audio on my redone!!!??? I feel like a retard because I can't figure it out! Please help

describe your setup more. are you hooking mics up direct to the camera? are you using an external mixer? if direct and the mics need phantom power, are the inputs configured as mic level inputs not line and is phantom power turned on?

thanks for the quick answer! mics direct to camera, I haven't configured the inputs and I haven't switched on phantom power, could you tell me how to do both of those please??? Thanks again

SYSTEM > SOUND > REC ENABLE
at this point, make sure that "microphone" input type is selected and there is a check mark on the mic inputs in question.

SYSTEM > SOUND > 48V MIC
and enable phantom power on any channels that are using condenser microphones. if you are in doubt about whether or not a mic is a condenser or not, look at the manual or let me know the models of mics you are using.

the final step is to set appropriate audio gains...
AV MENU > AUDIO
and set the levels so that your signal is "hot" but not so hot that you clip your levels.
