    We originally set out designing our prime lenses with a very high resolution target, extremely well corrected and a T1.8 target. Because we weren't sure if the final production units would make the aperture target, we advertised T1.9 to give ourselves some elbow-room.

    I'm happy to announce that every single lens hit the original goal... the 25mm, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm are all true T1.8.

    This may be a small thing, but I hope it points to our effort to be conservative in our announcements.

    I am very proud of the lens team and what they have accomplished.

    Wow, thanks. This is the kind of thinking that has made me a fan of the RED Digital Cinema brand since I first became exposed to it after NAB '06 (wow, time flies). Can't wait to see these lenses in person!

    Second feature film, Terminal, now in post-production in Kansas City and scheduled for a late 2013 release.
    Third feature film, Dust, currently in pre-production and scheduled for production during summer 2014.
