So far I've not come across a way to work with the native files on a PC, I'm not normally a RED user so this is really a jungle to me. Is there any way for me to use the native files on a pc with Velocity?

I don't think Harris (Leitch/DPS) even supports Velocity anymore.

the new version 10 of Velocity is now able to use any quicktime or Avi codec, as long as the system can play it, (using the system player), so if someone can make .r3d files accessible through system direct show Avi pointer (like apple did with .mov), or even better, if quicktime behave the same way in windows as it does in OSX, then –theoretically- Velocity can edit them; I say –theoretically- because we’ll still have the resolution issue!! (velocity can handle only legal HD sizes).
