Suitable Hardware For Running Premiere CS4?

I'm curious about the success or problems people are having trying to run Premiere CS4 with their r3d files. Does anyone have advice about what hardware is really needed in order to work with files at 1/4 resolution? I know there must be many out there who are trying to make their hardware work, but I'm not hearing almost anything. I'm thinking about buying another PC (one with more guts), but I hate to keep reinventing the wheel. If anyone has some suggestions, I'd really appreciate hearing from you (before I waste any more money). Thanks.

I'm working on a home built PC and doing great working with 4K native r3d in 1K sequences inside Premiere. The system cost less than $1,500 to put together (not including monitors/speakers/hard drives, which I already had).

Antec Three Hundred Mid Tower Case
Corsair CMPSU 750W Power Supply
Vista 64 Home Premium
Samsung DVD Burner

Everything was purchased at Newegg. I also purchased an aftermarket CPU cooler for $50 or so. I couldn't be happier with my system (for the money).

I do like the case, but it is not silent. It has adjustable-speed fans and I have them set to "Medium." I'm sure it would be more quiet if I set the fans to "Low" but I am not minding the "Medium" so I see no reason to change.

One strange thing about the case: the power supply cage is not up top but instead down below. The power supply has to be installed upside down as a consequence. No biggie, but I did find it strange.

The main selling point of the case? It's $55. But the build quality is very good for a $55 case. Antec generally makes quality stuff.

As far as hard drives, I have a 750GB Western Digital 7200RPM drive as my main system drive. I also have two 1.5TB Seagate 7200RPM drives as data drives. I'm not running any kind of RAID inside the machine.

I'm well aware of the spotty reputation the 1.5TB Seagate drives have. However, I own a total of eight of these drives (six of them are in my file server, along with eight 750GB Western Digitals) and I haven't had any problems with them whatsoever.
