lately we've seen all kinds of metadata embedded in audio-video streams.
you can have focus, aperture, even translations and rotations.
i'm wondering if there is a way to have color correction data stored along with images ( maybe more than one CC setup) , without the need to render, so you can have your scenes color corrected at the beginning of the workflow, put them in a timeline already corrected, and eventually change your mind at some point and go through the grading again.
E.G. you could do a first CC in Redcine, the go on a editing suite with the corrected clips, then do a final CC in a professional grading suite.
maybe there is already a way to do this.
so far, either you use the color correction tools available inside the editing software, or you have to render the scenes once they are corrected. and this is something that in the long run tends to get things quite complicated, with a great waste of time and storage space.
if someone knows if there is a way for this kind of workflow, please enlight me...
