    Hi Even,

Is the Tiffen Hot Mirror 82mm listed 129$ at B&H the equivalent as the ones you tested ?

    Thanks.

Here's the question, why would you want an 82mm hot mirror? A Hot Mirror is really only useful if you have ND in front of the lens. However, if you use a 82mm filter straight on the lens, there won't be any ND. Or, if you use it behind ND in a mattebox, you'll have the bouncing light issues since it should be in front of the ND's.

The only way I see to use it is if you can thread the Hot Mirror onto an 82mm ND which threads onto the lens.

I think that was the intended use.

I would REALLY like to know if these will work with Nikon lenses stacked with NDs without ghosting. Several of us Nikon users had zero luck with Pancro NDs due to ghosting, but great luck with the Formatts. Since the only time I'd need a screw-on 82mm hot mirror would be hand held without a mattebox, I'd really curious if Nikons and the screw-on hot mirror/screw-on NDs will work without Casper.

    That would be huge!
