I must say that so far I have not been impressed with beta 18 3.6. I think that the problem with play back of 4k ANA clips has to be resolved. As it is still a beta release I hope nay pray that they will be resolved for the release... release.
Is there a way to play back build 18 3.6 4k ANA clips on a MBP core 2 duo, 2.33GHZ, 2GB ram, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 256MB? All latest software and codec packs have been installed.
Second big problem I have had with the build is that on output to 720HDSDI we get placed on top of the view area what looks like a 16/9 mask. Noticeable by shaded areas on the side of the video split mon screen.
Is there a solution for this yet?
I think I stumbled on a temp work around. The shaded areas are not a setting in the split mon menus and are not visible in the EVF or LCD. When enabling the audio on a shoot the EVF got disabled some how (yes I know but this actually happened) and displayed an error: 'EVF not selected'. As a result of the EVF being disabled the camera re routed the image from the EVF to the split mon similarly to when the LCD is disconnected, subsequently without the shaded mask areas. The DP preferred to use the LCD himself as long as he could show his client a split mon with out those shaded areas. So ever since we disconnect the EVF cable and use the routed image on the split mon for split.
