So I finally got around to trying out my Red Handles... I got one left and one right (and they seem a bit expensive really at $250 each) and according to the Red Store the handle "Mounts on 19mm RODS or RED HANDLE MOUNT."

    BUT

it seems the design is such that the small bolt supplied with the handle CANNOT actually tighten up against the rods.

Now I may be being stupid but somehow I don't think I am. Before the bolt can tighten the collar against the rods it hits a part of the collar and there is no way to go any further. The bolt can only be effective if it is inserted from one side (the thin side with the bigger hole) of the collar but it seems this is impossible to tighten. Someone tell me I am wrong please - it's a small detail but vital - it seems like a silly design oversight. Anyone from Red got a solution? Please?

Pull the bolt and it pulls out to get past the metal

Yes, this is an insane omission of information. It almost drove me crazy on my first day as well.

L-M S... what a find! Indispensable! Do you have the set? There must be different volumes for left and right handles surely. I hope Red will supply the book and the DVD with all new orders....
    :)

    nice touch

I heard you can pre-order the handles already mounted for you by Red, you just need to send them a sketch or picture of your arms and hands position and they ship you the camera with handles pre-mounted...

Oh and Peter, for the record and so you don't feel like an absolute idiot, there's many threads like this one that come up every once in a while...
