I've filmed the real Mr. T in the past several years, and he's great to work with, but I think I prefer this Mr. T for a 5K closeup - no offense Mr . T !!

Seriously, great shot Jarred. AFAIK, this is the first image we are seeing from the new sensor that is not a screen grab, and the first image that really shows us where this is going. I've now pulled my kids out of school to work in a sweatshop to help pay for the Epic X upgrade. With the bit of extra time that Jim says we have, it might be enough to fully cover it!

It really is just mind-numbing what you guys have done.

It seems like only yesterday that Ted told me he was going to leave AJA and build a camera with the founder of Oakley. I remember looking at him for a long moment and then asking "do you have the sensor?" - to which he replied .... "no. but we're gonna build it". I laughed.

I'm still laughing. But now, it's because I remain in awe of all that you guys have done and continue to do - and how much fun you have along the way.

If RED was somehow rendered obsolete tomorrow - you would still have one of the wildest, great stories in the history of cinema ...

Focus plane is about half inch/1.7 cm, notice how Mr. T is only sharp from nose tip to about behind the eyes, that's some very shallow focus plane indeed. What aperture were you using and how far from T were you Jarred, if you can remember of course?

Maybe more than 85mm with close to wide-open aperture?



And man... We would all love seeing some exterior shots. :)
