...and I learned a lot over my first 3D experience. It is only on the web right now in anaglyph. Make sure to watch it in HD otherwise the 3D effect is diminished. Hope you have the glasses.

We shot it on two of these consumer Sonys in order to get narrow inner ocular distances without a beam splitter.

Both cameras were mounted to a custom cheesplate that we could slide both cameras on quickly.

    Few Things I picked up:

-The anaglyph format is very limiting but it is still the only way for internet and TV(not for long). You can't have as much depth. Worlds of difference between what you see online and a polarized version.

-You need narrow inner ocular often so small cameras are essential without a beamsplitter($). Understanding the 1/30th rule is essential. Better to play it too narrow than wide. Especially in Anaglyph.

-Not perfectly matching focal lengths, exposure and convergence between the cameras can easily be manipulated in post. However the more they mismatch the more image you will have to crop in the end so get as close as you can. You can not fix inner ocular distances later as well as focus obviously.

-The resolution of the image appears to double in some ways. Noisy shots in 2D will appear less noisy in 3D. I also saw some red 2k footage that definitely was much harder to distinguish from the 4k footage in 3D rather than 2D.

Now I hope to do more 3D projects professionally like I do for 2D. We will see. All depends on the distribution.

Special thanks to our 3D consultant Ray Zone!

Looks really good. Can't wait to see scarlet 3k footage in 3d (non-Anaglyph please).

There were some really good shots, and sone that looked really bad (3d-wise). But I think it's the Anaglyph that sucks in this shots, not the shot itself.

Love the video! It fits the style of the song perfectly. And the girl is cute too! Both leads had a nice, naturalistic presence which really helped sell the romance of the story.

Watched the anaglyph version. I can only imagine how nice it looks with true polarised 3D glasses!

    Great work :)

Thanks for the feedback guys. Couple of responses.....

The cameras were not in sync. This really only shows itself in fast moving parallel to lens action. It wasn't as big of a problem as I thought it would be.

As far as the shot that don't work as well I really have to point the finger at Anaglyph or to ourselves for not shooting shots with less depth. However we wanted to target an endresult that was ideal for anaglyph and polarized so compromises were made for an anaglyph only version. However I think if you watch the other anaglyph material on the web we did very well. Even compared to the Bjork Wanderlust video.

I do wish those cameras were 24p. I've meant to change it from 30p to 24p for awhile in post.

    Hi all,

    congratulations, that’s a beautiful 3D movie, I love it.
because you use few resources still have more value, I was impressed with the quality of this handy cameras, and yours capacity to do 3D Stereo images.

I noticed some vertical desalignment in some shots, but I think that is because the Keystoning effect or lens distortion.

It will be possible to share a 3D version with two separated files? I liked to see in my 3D projection system with polarizer glasses.

    thanks, Marco Neiva.
