I've had a number of batteries, and 2 chargers die on me for no explainable reason...about six months old, not abused in any way. I brought them into Red for evaluation, and they were replaced...while they made me understand that out-of-warranty replacement for power accessories was unusual and at their discretion, I left a satisfied customer. In my case I think a failure of charger caused batteries to roast...
