I'm trying to determine whether or not some footage was shot with MAX mode enabled. Is there an app or utility that'll tell me this?

    Thanks,

    Load shots into RedRushes

    File>Export ALE

    Use TextEdit to read ALE

You can read the metadata this way, not sure if it'll tell you what you want to know, what's Max mode?

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know RedRushes ALEs contained so much info.

MAX mode, when enabled, is supposed to enhance image quality, though the latest version of the Red One Ops Guide only has this to say about it:

"Note: Leave MAX box checked, unless recording 4K 16:9 and needing real time decode."

I'm trying to troubleshoot some banding I'm seeing in Scratch Cine with some build 17 footage in RED RAW Log color space. I'd like to confirm or rule out that MAX mode is causing the issue.

    Thanks,

    Ken

Probably Magnetic Ballast HMI and a shutter speed set to 180º instead of 144º or 216º. Thats the only time I see banding in RED footage.

Try switching to RED RAW LIN and see if it disappears.

Is this something that would show up on the LCD during recording?
