One meter distance would already make all the difference (in wildlife shooting). For, if so, then one could have a lighter fluid head and attach the camera body to one of the legs of the tripod. Furthermore, one could attach long lenses directly to the fluid head and use the brain to counterbalance the mass. When shooting aerials, much smaller gyros were needed, in case of a remote controlable head, smaller motors were needed to pan and tilt and so on. One meter could already make quite a difference when shooting with a jib or crane. Of course, in such cases, the longer the distance the better.Originally Posted by Deanan
