I know you have to have an Intel mac to work with R3D's, but I have a G5 tower just sitting here and would love to be able to let it chug away creating ProResHQ files for hours on end. Is there a way to do that?

Unfortunately, no.
(And I also have G5 quad, but am limited for now to a laptop to chunk those R3Ds away.)
