  1. #1 Battery Plate
    Hello,

shooting today we realized that the 5th pin from the left on the red battery plate seemed to get very hot and the plastic melted.

It also made two different batteries very hot and an elastic spring from the red battery plate went throught the plastic and got stuck in the plastic cover of one of the batteries.

Has anyone experienced the same problem?

    Best wishes,
    Martin

Sounds like the pin of the battery plate is damaged in some way and causing an incorrect mating. Please send an incident ticket to tech support via www.red.com/support.

    Thanks, BC

Just because you have a working connection, does not mean it is the right connection. :)

i assume it was a poor power connection, which overheated and caused the "melt-down". it never happened to me with other swit-v-mount-connections over the last 12 years :-(

anyone else experienced the same problem?

    best wishes,
    martin

btw, i am researching for some handheld solutions and to loose some weight on my shoulder.

    Two questions:
    - i am thinking of getting battery belts - any bad experience with those?

    - i have been wondering if the anton bauer solution is more stable then the v-mount solution?

    any thoughts?

    best wishes,
    martin

use the RED battery belt clip with One RED brick battery for the cheapest solution.
We hang it on the dolly like a mini block and then hotswap with P-tap M to M suicide cable. For longer sequences a battery belt will be great. We had victory battery make us custom blocks and belts w/ RED power connectors. They are fantastic
