  1. #1 Whats the best screen capture software?
For making video tutorials on anything computer related or software related.

I want to make tutorials for people, with an audio narration. I want one that can ZOOM into specific parts of the screen to make it easier to read when I click on something. This is a really handy featue I need because it helps peopel see what your clicking on when your watching a small res video.

It seems to work well for other people and its a feature I enjoy when I'm watching software tutorials.

If someone knows of a good software that will help, me please let me know, especialy if its free or cheap. :D:D

    Thanks in advance!

I've tried a lot of them and Fraps is the only one that doesn't crash and I have never lost any footage during capture. I used to do a lot of screen captures and in fact it helped me grab all the footage for a 22 minute short film from a computer game I was working on. It's awesome.

    CamStudio: http://www.camstudio.org/

I don't know if it is the best, but it is free.

    Check out this video: http://www.spike.com/video/how-to-pan-zoom-with/2894942

It explains how to accomplish zooming in the video capture with another freeware program called Magnifying Glass (http://www.workerscollection.com/wco...h/html/mg.html)

Camtasia ($300) is the hands down standard on the PC side but its fairly expensive. Screenflow is hands down the winner on the Mac side.
