  1. #1 "Abheben" (Lift Off) - Teaser - first Austrian short shot on RED
More about the project and a lot of pictures in this thread

This teaser is just giving an impression of the mood of the short.
    No dialogs, no story insights.

Color correction, grading and denoising is done by me.

    short "Abheben"

    Duration: ~ 35 min.
Locations: Graz (Austria) & surrounding areas
    Date of shooting: July, 13th 2008 - July, 28th 2008

    Director: André Keßler
Script: Martin Kroissenbrunner & André Kessler
    Camera: Leif Thomas
2nd Camera & Data Management: Alex Jentz
Lighting & Postproduction: Robert Niessner (LAUFBILDkommission)
Production Management & Focus Puller: Simon Veroneg
    Cutter: Florian Metzner

    Teaser Cutter: Stefan Müller (LOOM)
Teaser Color Correction & Finish: Robert Niessner (LAUFBILDkommission)

    Inhalt:
Markus, a student is dissatisfied with his life and himself. His relationship with Pia, a deaf but fine young woman, seems complicated and boring, like his side job as a paper boy.
His best friend and flat mate Sebastian is a total different race - women are his fun business, with an ego enough for three guys.
When Sebastian gets dragged to an adult shop by Sebastian, he gets to know Isabelle. She's fun-loving and hot. Head over heals Markus jumps into an affair with Isabelle without a thought about the consequences.
The cheated Pia soons gets suspicious of Sebastion and when Sebastian starts to romance with Isabelle things are getting really complicated.

For WinPC as MP4 with h.264 (playable e.g. with VLC / Media Player Classic Homecinema):

I'm surprised how many people claim to be first at something, but first short on RED in Austria July 2008? You sure?

    That's January 2008.

The following lenses have been used:
    Zeiss standard 2.0 set (16mm, 24mm, 32mm, 50mm, 85mm, 100mm),
    Peleng 8mm Fisheye, PL-Mount
    RedZoom 18-50mm

The RedZoom has only been used for framing tests, but not for shooting.

I have not been able to find any more details on Rainer's short, not even the title. His imdb entry does not mention the short, his homepage neither. There is just a music video and two commercials.

Btw, didn't you work with Peter Koller on "Evil Grounds"?

Here are some stills from the teaser. I think the dynamic range of the R1 is pretty amazing.
    Still #2 is a denoised ISO2000.
Stills #1, #4 and #5 are natural light only, while #5 shows a nice latitude - keeping a lot of detail in water highlights and face shadows.
In #1 the sky was originally almost white with little cloud details - I was able to grade it back for a great dramatic look.

    The Denoised Image is impressing!
    How did you achieve that?
    Using neatvideo, or similar...
Or is it an after Effects Technik?
    Regards
