God damn, the acting (what acting?!), the "script", the cinematography style that makes Bourne look like shot from an unmovable tripod, and the stupidly infantile style made Baywatch look like Lawrence of Arabia. I mean, amazing FX aside, which were so quickly cut, so repetitive and so in your face all the time so as to make them BORING, this excuse of a film made me so sad as to where Hollywood is headed. Every big movie that has opened this year has gotten progressively worse, and that trend seems to be only gaining strength, god have mercy of that small group of us that go to the movies to be entertained in a way that challenges our intellect, at least a little bit, and not made to feel like 4th graders, which a large majority of the population seems to openly enjoy! You guys wanna see a good science fiction flick, go catch "Moon", or a great action film with explosions and robots, check out "The Hurt Locker". That is, of course, if those gems of a movie are playing in your city, as they got limited release, due to an intelligent plot, stellar directing and great acting, making them, of course, unappealing to most audiences...

And BTW Tom, Terminator Salvation was another steaming pile of diarrhea, I was surprised you were OK with it, but since it is you, I'll let it slide :-)
LMAO. I wonder if Bay will want to use this blurb on the DVD cover:

"Transformers 2... it makes Baywatch look like Lawrence of Arabia."

I did see "Moon," and agree with you that it's an excellent little sci-fi film, especially considering that the budget was something like $5 million. I really enjoyed it because it had a STORY, great acting, a spot-on, low-key score by Mansell, etc.

I don't know... I can't really account for my lukewarm "Terminator 2" theater recommendation. Maybe Hollywood has been flinging so much shit into our faces lately that anything short of complete diarrhea seems like a winner? Even "Up" let me down a little.

And I'm afraid it's going to get worse before it gets better. We still "GI JOE" coming up, which looks to me like the biggest, most pointless POS of all time.

Pray that Cameron, Mann and Malick can save us this year!!!

Let us not forget Roland Emmerich is about to unleash 2012 on us. I fear this will take the buscuit as the nadir of cinema in 2009. That being said the CG looks spectacular, especially the shot of a tsunami depositing an aircraft carrier on top of the White House.

On a happier note, Moon was excellent.

Do you have time for the circus? How about a parade? Or white water kayaking? Or a concert?

None of these things deliver great stories and characters but I find them entertaining and worthwhile of my time.

One of the best things about "Transformers 2" was the Honda snippet shot by Ian Bloom, right before the movie started. Made me smile...

    You Guys are on crack.

I never looked at my watch.

I was never ahead of the story.

    Every frame looked beautifully shot.

    The action was high.

And the audience was enjoying it.

What more do you want from a summer event film?

A lot of times I think that most the people on here are low budget independent film makes or work for regional production companies doing local video work and wished they could be making these movies. Because some comments come across as bitter and bashing just for the sake of it. I am far from Michael Bays biggest fan but I liked this movie, I walked out of the theater thinking it was worth the price of admission, and I'm gonna add it to my BluRay collection.

You guys are so critical for a movie that's based on a cartoon.
    Its selling TOYS.

Its made $200,000,000 in its first 5 days. $200 million in its opening week.
It cant possibly be that bad.
