f-900 and f-950 were extensively used by Roller, Wight and Cameron in Cameron-Pace Fusion 3D housings (all of them were side by side using Fujinon lenses).
Have you seen Wild Ocean 3D IMAX? Sanctum 3D IMAX? Ghost of the Abyss? Aliens of the Deep? Any underwater 3D IMAX?
It is fascinating and entertaining to read your somewhat embarrassing stories. How do you come up with this nonsense, if you don't mind me asking, Johnny?
yeah new thread call it "Underwater non bubble blowers" that would separate the men from the boys LOL

Such a simple concept, executed brilliantly. I think this is one of the best videos I've seen in a WHILE.
Was the pool black already? Or did you guys throw down a tarp?
How many lights are up top?
Did you guys do anything to add more bubble texture?
It doesn't FEEL like a pool. Instead, it feels like some lost lake, very primitive, timeless.
Great, great job!!!!
Many thanks for that! We shot a sequence of the band walking in ala Reservoir dogs and jumoing in but it wasn't used and the decision was made so as not to interrupt the feel of the 'world' below.
We blacked out the pool room and obviously had no light whatsoever. I had 3 x 1.2 k Hmis and 2 575 HMI pars.
For alot of the shots I only used one 2 lights (575 and 1.2k) and then for the dance sequence and for some of the closeups I used only one light but I also used a plexy glass -( perspex that is just like a mirror but bends) which I used to reflect onto faces/ dresses to give an otherworldly feel. I sometimes used a 575 to light foreground bubbles. It's was a very steep learing curve to understand what the light does when it hits water.
The pool was only 4ft all over so it was tough enough not to get spill onto tiles. The bubbles are just that - nothing added to the water. I asked the musicians to make as big a spalsh as possible when they went for a take and those bubbles stayed for a while. We figured out that the drummer had to take his hand out of the water so that we would get a trail of bubbles. For some of the wider shots I had a reg underneath the lens to give me some bubbles but the bubbles were too big.
All shot on EPIC 5 kws and with a Zeiss 25mm 1.3. I made 3 focal lengths and jused used them as we had no control once camera went in to casing - apart from the REDMOTE which worked brilliantly. Camera got very hot but we gave it lots of rest! I had to guess the stop for each setup and not change as it took a while to take out housing, dry, unlock etc. etc. We had led hanging lights at the back but they got lost.
Glad you liked it.
Does anyone have a terms of employment document that might share here setting out for production companies who want to hire serves and gear the employment terms??
