    Hi

I have newest build 20.0.2 but whend i try to get some playback from camera i get this error:

    SATA_TRANS_ FAULT

Then the red drive unmount and after few seconds mounts again.
The camera stays on and funcional.

The Red Raid is almost full only 2% available. Could this be the problem?
On this drive i have 4K HD, 23.96 fps, redcode 36 footage.

    Anyone have this problem?

I just had this error this weekend. I was getting this error any time I tried to play footage. Even when the drives only had a couple shots on them. I got this error on both of my Red Drives.

    Anyone else?

The most likely cause (especially if its happening with two RED-DRIVEs) is a damaged E-SATA cable.

Best to contact Sean in Tech Support and have the cable and drives checked out. Also send him the camera LOG file.

And for goodness' sake, don't fill up a Red Raid Drive to within 2 percent!!!
    Cheers,

I am getting the SATA_TRANS_ FAULT error on both my Red Drives with both of my drive cables. I sent a message to Red Support about sending in my Drives and Cables to have them tested and find out what needs to be done. Hopefully I can send them in Mon morning.

Build 20 is the first time I have ever seen this error, but I have had playback problems on older builds. Camera rebooting on playback and stuff like that.

I just sent both my Red drives and both drive cables to Red for testing.

Everyone I have been talking to lately is getting this SATA_TRANS_FAULT error. Some people on record, some on playback, and some on both. This error just started with build 20, is this something added to build 20?

Does EVERYONE really have bad drive cables?

    Thanks,
    Dusty

Yes, the fact that the camera is generating a SATA_TRANS_FAULT error message rather than re-booting is characteristic of Build 20.

If you are seeing this, then you should contact RED technical support.
