    The latest release version of RED ONE camera firmware has been posted on www.red.com/support : Build 20 RED ONE Firmware, v20.1.3. This is a password-protected download.

    SUMMARY: Enhanced Color Matrix, with decreased Blue channel noise, especially under tungsten lighting, increased skin tone accuracy on RED-EVF, RED-LCD, and HD-SDI outputs, modified False Color meters for RAW, REC709 and REDspace views, modified Zebra 1 and 2 defaults, modified microphone level default, 48V Phantom Power maintained over power cycle, fixed "audio codec error" and "green flash" on audio enabled clip play back from RED-DRIVE, fixed camera reboot on clip playback from RED-DRIVE, fixed camera reboot on communications error from S4/i lens data port, corrected Look Around area on HD-SDI and HDMI outputs for 4K ANA / 3K ANA / 2K ANA modes, changed USER KEY 4 to VIEW RAW, changed USER KEY 5 to COLOR.

    Read all instructions contained in the installation readme file before proceeding with download.

    WARNING: Exposure assist tools in this version of firmware have been updated as follows: Adjusted Sensor RAW meter highlight clip indication response, Adjusted black level response of RGB monitor path / RGB Histogram / HDMI / HD-SDI output(s), Corrected FALSE COLOR error in VIEW RAW mode, Re-calibration and simplification of FALSE COLOR overlay for RAW, REC709 and REDspace.

    NOTE: RED ONE camera firmware v20.1.3 resolves many, if not all, of the camera reboot issues. If you still experience issues on record or playback with a RED-DRIVE, please contact tech support at www.red.com/support to assist you further.

    NOTE: The RED ONE Operation Guide v20.1.3 is a new format with significant revisions to content. Please PM me if you find any typos or with any other feedback.

    Oh yeah! Just in time for my 5-camera shoot tomorrow! I was prepared to use 20.1.2 but still a bit nervous in the back of mind just because of the word beta...

    Here's a question - Why does the Red 'eat' the upgrade from the CF card? After the update the UPGRADE folder on the CF is empty.

    Only reason I ask is I update a few cameras at a time and have to recopy it to the CF each time.

    It would be nice to see a visual example of Blue channel improvements to the new firmware build.

    Could someone post a before and after with v17 and 20 please?

    Perhaps a close up of noise in the blacks magnified in addition to full frame would be useful.
