That is correct.

But I would love to be able to preserve the user settings between each upgrade...

Then next time try this - save a USER PREF file to SD Card prior to doing the firmware upgrade... then read it back after the upgrade.

From page 16 of the new operations guide: "The sequence of 12-bit RAW images received from the sensor is compressed using proprietary wavelet based REDCODE™ RAW compushion." The term appears again on page 112. What's "compushion"? My guess was "compassionate pixel fushion". ;)

RED's own website warned against using Beta Builds for professional use. That means if anything ever went wrong you could have been open for a very expensive lawsuit. We at Abel could not take such a liability risk.
