  1. #1 Subject to change..?
Ok I was all set to make a reservation until I saw this...specs subject to change..count on it. Ok.. was this how it was when the first reservations were opened? I feel disappointed in Red right now. Will the changes be drastic or half that jim?

The specs have been subject to change since day 1. We're all counting on them to change. ;) ...Just the other day, Jannard posted that RED will be gaining nearly 1lb weight to make it more rugged and "tank-like". Also a big reason why reservations are fully refundable at any time, for any reason.

You might want to keep in mind that when I and many others put our deposits down on the first day of Nab, we were thrilled by the possibility of shooting 2k. Now everyone will be able to shoot Redcode 4k. Wow!

Things are subject to change, as the example above illustrates, that can go either way. It's my opinion things that change for the better will more than likely out weigh any disappointments, if any.

Most of the changes have been positive. If you are nervous, cancel and get a refund. Or wait until after the camera ships and you gain comfort from users before you purchase. No pressure from this side. As for disappointed, this is the same message we have given from day one.

Ohh. Alright. Thanks jim. I changed my mind and i'll be reserving one later today or tomorrow. I'm not one of those skeptical red complainers, I've been telling everyone I know about it. And since this was how it was since day 1, then I'm not so disappointed. So I hope no one holds any grudges in response to my post, I just wasn't aware that's all. Anyways, since I dont want to make a new thread, quick question. Will the red-drive come with the camera, or is that separate?

RED DRIVE (target price $1000 for 320GB) is a separate item, as is RED FLASH media for the included flash module.

That is what we have been told, but of course that comes with the usual "subject to change" caveat. Jim has said that full details of all accessories, including their pricing, are expected to be revealed in March. See this link:

Perhaps the biggest "change - count on it" was the introduction of REDCODE RAW for 4k. Change can be a good thing :-)
