Yep! Epic will be an amazing system. I hope it's released soon. It will be a super Christmas present that I'll open early. I'm still learning the cinema side of things.

Howdy Ian, you converted it to mp4 ok? I'll have to try when I get home with the RED reel. Usually I'll download the quicktime trailers and convert to mp4 and play on the xbox - which works just dandy. The thing that stinks about that is the silly h264 codec is HORRIBLE with gradients and so things tend to band pretty bad with the original quicktime they provide for download. Anywho, I'll try when I get home tonight.
Hey Brian,
No conversion. Just popped it on a thumb-drive and it played...right up until the RED footage starts. It's a single .mov file. Why would the 360 play the first 15 or so seconds and then say that it's an invalid format?
Weird.
Managed to watch it on my wife's laptop.
Nice footage.
Now let's see what people can do with Scarlet. :D
AMAZING!!!
(btw, I've just got back from Amsterdam after a week of so much fun and parties!).

Very nice footage. My god, I must have a RED camera. Great reel.
Hey Jim,
How are you streaming this clip? I was very impressed to see that it loaded almost instantly vs. the older reel that took over 10 minutes to download. I'm assuming you've got a dedicated server that is streaming it?

Hi Jarred,
Yeah, I agree. I do think it's a style. Unfortunately, it's really taking over everywhere, especially stills. One of my favorite photographers, Dan Winters, recently made the jump from 4x5 film to the Canon 1Ds Mark III. His lighting is still impeccable, but there's now some magic missing from his portraits that he had when he was exclusively 4x5 film. Also, take a look at the portraiture of Norman Jean Roy if you want to see what I mean. NJR shoots mostly medium format with an old Mamiya RZ67. He is IMO the best editorial/ad shooter out there today. Check out the Katherine Heigel Vanity Fair shots. http://www.art-dept.com/artists/roy/
Anyway, that last part of the new RED reel, the dunes/camel, should be up front IMO. It really gave me a lot of confidence in the camera's ability to produce something more organic looking. Really just amazing, lovely work. And Mr. MacGregor's stuff has always been really great, too, maybe get some of that footage for the next round.
