Hi,
Anyone seen this?
1. From Apple Color - Rendered out 1920x1080 media files.
2. Sent back to FCP
3. Exported movie from 1920x1080 FCP timeline
4. Open and play in QT and the actual frame size is (1888x1062)?
Strange? No?

Which version of QT?
QT has Presentation modes. Hit Apple i and see the display pixels and encoded.
If in QT7 goto window>Show movie properties.
Select Presentation tab >
Either untick conform to aperture or tick it and select encoded pixels.
This is for stuff like dvcprohd that should play at 1920 but is actually 1440 or something cant recall right now..
From the HELP.
The Conform Aperture setting allows you to specify how the outside edges of the video are processed during playback. Depending on how the movie was created, and its aspect ratio and resolution, the portion of the image area that has the best quality and is intended for display will vary. During playback, QuickTime adjusts the image using the selected aperture setting to obtain the best visual clarity.
Classic aperture uses the dimensions as specified by the track.
Clean aperture crops to the clean aperture area and scales the image according to the pixel aspect ratio of the track. The clean aperture area excludes the edges of the video where encoding artifacts might occur.
Production aperture scales according to the pixel aspect ratio but does not crop the video.
Encoded Pixels neither crops nor scales the movie.
IN QT Version 10 In Snow Leopard there is no longer a show movie properties command. Just the Command "I" window which shows the frame size I described earlier.

I’ve seen this with a variety of formats in QT7. The player chops a number of pixels from each side, evenly and maintaining aspect ratio, but for no apparent reason. I’ve learned to ignore it. The data is still there, and dropping that clip into FCP shows the full frame.
This bug does not appear to be related to pixel aspect ratio (as in DVCPRO HD).
Square or rectangle pixels?
Of course it should be square, but this could affect it.
