for what is the "big" Evf - Viewfinder Button

It's supposed to be quite "loose" actually. Never quite understood why. I took the lid off and put a small piece of gaffers tape inside the knob which makes it nice and snug.
Under Setup/Display there is a check box for the EVF menu. If this is checked you will get a menu on the left of your display in the EVF only. If you cannot see it try pressing the large button in once and you should see it as you can turn it off even when checked! You can then rotate the button and a cursor will allow you to select an item from the list. Pressing the button again will select the item and then rotating the button allows you to alter it. I find it really useful for making quick adjustments without taking your eye from the viewfinder. More details on page 77 of the operations guide. (Build 20 or 21). The button does feel loose as Tony says but you should be able to feel a soft clicking as it is an encoder and will turn continuously in either direction.
WoW....thats it! it works and now i can control the shutter fast&easy :-)
thanks a lot guys!!!!
Thanks for the tip David.
I wondered why I couldn't see the menu.....this could have been explained better by Red in the manual...like so many things ;)
BTW p77 of the my operations guide v20.0.0 doesn't mention the EVF at all - it's about audio ouptuts.
Having tried out the menu it seems a shame that I can't see what I am changing any of the settings to, unless I look on the rear status display.
