No news on fixed lens Scarlet in recent months at all.

Well, this render JJ posted yesterday looks like the fixed Scarlet to me: brain is the same width as redmote, so it's a Scarlet, there doesn't seem to be a lens mount and it looks pretty long so it could very well be the fixed version.

The angle of the shot may of course hide the mount behind the handle, and it makes counting ridges a bit hard, but still...

I'm about 99% sure this is just the same RPP we've seen on all the renders. Look at the gearing and size. The Fixed version renders never showed that, and the lens spec was set to have a 77mm filter diameter. I doubt it'd go up that much.

There should be a moratorium on comparing Scarlet to cameras that exist and can be purchased.

Maybe its the render of the EPIC they showed in Amsterdam ....

Ok its looks thinner but whats the point to not tell it would be the scarlet? It must be the epic! Hopefully it comes some renders of scarlet soon!

I think the main reason was that there were some renders of an extremely similar setup and you could clearly see the letters "let" under the RED logo, so that one at least was a Scarlet, and the ones from behind seem to match up with the Scarlet's width in relation to the remote.

it could be nice from red to say if they are able or not to deliver the scarlet since the end of the year ... was hoping for a first model in september or some news .. but as i see .. nothing .. should i look in other brand ?

Where you gonna go, Panasonic, Sony, Canon? If you were convinced of the others, you probably would have made that decision already.

i mean expecting something that will happened in 1 years .. maybe you have to look for another solution even if they are not better !
scarlet is going to be my first " pro" cam .. but not in 2011 !
