I think you've got it backwards, the video capabilities of the Red are undeniable, professional and continue to get better.

Whether it gains any serious market share as a stills camera is to be determined.

I believe the camera in Jim's renders on Page 20 and 21 is a DSMC Scarlet. Check his render on his post #195 (Page 20), where you can see a small amount of the RED logo's right side. On the bottom of of the logo button you can see the letters "let". The lens appears to be mounted with the new RED mount, which would seem to rule out it being the fixed lens Scarlet. It could be the 2/3" Scarlet Cinema, but that lens render appears to be too large to be a Mini-RED Prime.

As we'd expect to see at times on a DSMC Scarlet, there are traditional still photo accessories - side handle, bottom handle, etc..

I think he meant for the Canon and Nikons, not the DSMCs.

For movies, I think CF card is a much better format than SD.
SD cards are so cheap that one could use them like tape: shoot once, put to shelf for archive. Also, they can be bought pretty much everywhere...

Remmeber that there are connectors on the bottom of the brain itself, not just on the modules.
