In that spirit, where's the audio pots I've been whining about for a year now?

But seriously, I assume you rednicks can glean the good suggestions out of this conversation. It's not unappreciative of all the amazing things you are doing. It is genuine enthusiasm for the great possibilities of this technological jump you are leading, and a natural reaction to the interactive business model you are also pioneering.

If I recall, the strap on the IBC cam was a $8 job they said they slapped on there, and not representative of what would likley be offered.

Jim, I'm looking forward to the announcement in Oct.

Mods, would there be any way to pull all the new renders into one post, so we don't have to plow through 50 pages to find them?

    Done.

All the renders from the Control and Incredible threads. I also included a few user photos of the IBC prototypes.

I am a really happy RedOne owner. I am really exited about the new announcement and even though I'd love to upgrade to Epic, I'm not so sure If I'll be able to do it. With all the Birger delays, unfortunately it took me a while to start moving and using my Red.

For my personal and artistic work, I really don't feel the need to upgrade the Red. It just works so good and gives me much more than what I'd expected and it keeps getting even better for free!. I am getting incredible images that were impossible for me to get before. But it is true that I went way over my initial budget, but hey, that's why I gave up my career as a business man, I'm terrible with numbers. :-)

So even with the great deal that Red will give us, I don't know if it'll be worth for me to pay the extra cash to get those features. I guess I am still in love with my Red, that I feel it is too early to start cheating on her. It's been roughly 6 months waiting for my Red and over a year with it!

I don;t want to sound like whining, but before I was changing my Sony HDv and paying the full price every few years to get the new one. But that full price was 3 to 5 k. (and a crappy quality compared to what I have now) but when I decided to go for Red, it was a big investment jump for me, and every small upgrade even if it is not to pay the full price, it is going to cost much more than the sony prosumer I was used to, because now I am playing in a different league. And even with "obsolesce obsolete" when time comes upgrading from the brain Epic X to the Epic SS35 brain it is going to cost a lot.

But what it makes me happy, is that before I had an HDV FX1 without XLR, and now I have my beautiful Red that will allow me to shoot great projects for a long long time even if then, everyone will want the Epic or Scarlet. And let's face it, how much better images can get the Epic/Scarlet after seeing last RedOne demo at IBC?

    Awesome, Jeff! Thanks.

Looking at this render, I notice that the bottom grip thingy screws onto the bottom of the brain in a similar fashion to a DSLR grip. One thing I would really urge is to make this connection as SOLID as possible. When I put the grip on my 5D2, for example, the camera becomes wobbly on a good tripod, because the screw-on style of attachment just is not solid enough. There is some play in it. That's fine for hand-held photos, but for video, it can be problematic. I would go for overkill on the sturdiness of that connection.
