  1. #1 reverse conform
Is there a way to reverse a conform process with clipfinder or the like? So if you onlined an edit to _f's with clipfinder and then made changes to the online project, to then take that info back to an offline? I suppose I'm looking for an option in the reconform menu that will remove the _f (or_h, _m, whatever) and automatically relink files. If there is no current solution, any chance of it being added? Hans? Please? I know it doesn't sound terribly useful, but I can think of a few situations where it would really save me some time.

If you have rendered the offline clips with Clipfinder and still have the offline clips in a directory somewhere, you can conform from a proxy-based online (_F, _H, etc.) back to the onffline clips.

    In the conform settings
    - check "match only first 16 characters"
    - uncheck "replace clips with ... proxy
    - select the directory that holds your offline clips as the "Clip directory"

I have just tested this on a small sample project. It worked fine.
If it does not work for you, let me know.

    Cheers,
    Hans

    Wow, that's sweet!
Would this work with the cam-proxies, too?

    Gunleik,

What this does is that it truncates the name in the input XML to 16 characters, then appends ".mov, then attempts to find a file with that name.

If it finds the file, it replaces the file reference in the XML with the new file path.

So, depending on what you are trying to do, it may work with cam-proxies.

    Cheers,
    Hans

Hans, this method worked beautifully. Thank you so much for your efforts for all of us! Clipfinder has made my life sooo much easier. With this method, I haven't found a problem that it can't help with. (Well, maybe one. But that's kind of a bigger issue.) Thanks again!
