Where-ever You want it to be. :)
That's why it's modular. Anything can be anywhere. You can stack all the modules up, put a big lens on it and have a front-heavy setup, add some rails(let's face it, you're gonna have some rails anyway), space some modules more to the rear and have a nicely balanced setup. Heck, if you want to you can put everything but the brain in a fanny pack and grow a mullet. The options are limited only by your imagination ;)
Though thats what I think it will be like, I ve seen all modules connected to each other with a V-lock type of mount, I wonder if it will be t choice of connecting the modules to each other by cables.this way if you want just the sensor and lens together and everything else separate and away it will be so modular. If this choice is not offered with the new cams it will be a shame cause you can do so much with splitting these cameras apart..
As much as I've understood you can tether the modules to the brain via a cable so that's where the fanny pack idea came from![]()
I hope so. It makes so many ways of new possibilities for mounting the system in different devices . I am just waiting to see how this will turn up , to carry on with my rigs and adaptation .
yes, im asking this question in relation to Constantine's variable. The centre of gravity of the brain alone.
I would expect the center of gravity of the brain will be over the tripod mounting socket or close too. But the brains are so short and relatively light that how and what one attaches to rig the camera will be the controlling factor in ultimate COG.
Thing is... no matter where the COG of the brain together with the lens and addons iswhen you have the right tool to find it with precision and adjust dead spot on , you can make a very stabilized platform. And the HR-1 DELUXE, THE ACROBAT, AND THE ROTATOR,
all utilize the right tools to adjust this as well as the back modules.
And thats what its more exciting about this cameras. that they can be splited in half, so now there is noreason to add counterweights , just compensate with in the camera parts its self. living you with a very light, modular, and very stabilized rig . Now if only RED would bring these cams into production until Xstmass I will be ready to present these new rigs and the possibilities created.
I definitely want the ability to split the lens and sensors from the other modules for shots in super tight spaces like inside cars, airplanes, refrigerators, elevators, closets, etc.
