A feature on which I was the DIT just wrapped, and our editor is currently doing the offline edit from ProRes files. After that he's going to grade in Apple Color using the original R3D files. What's the best way to media manage only the R3D files needed so that we don't have to give him every single piece of raw footage?

Anything? How would I give the colorist just the R3D files he needs to do the color grading?

Monkey Extract will do this.. You probably only need the demo version www.rubbermonkeysoftware.com. Just feed it an EDL and it will copy only the R3D files you need to a new location
