Updating to MC 4.0 from 3.1.3

Hi Michael !

I'm on MAC and should update my dongle.... the avd I cant open and update the dongle....

any hint ?

Hmmm.... somewhere in the v2 to v3 era (I think) the dongle manufacturer we use changed their dongle format and all older dongles needed to be replace with newer ones. Basically send in your exiting dongle for a swap.

I would call the support line in a case like this.

Hi, make sure you are running the right version of Dongle Manager. Since v3.5 a new Dongle Manager needs to be used. If you are running your older (3.1) Dongle Manager, you might run into issues.

I'm pretty sure that - for this one time only, I'll add ! - Michael is not right (about the dongle needing to be swapped). I have an original purple USB dongle that once was an Avid XPress Pro, still using that on MC4 today.

Upgrades to Avid Media Composer v3.5.x, Avid Symphony v3.5.x or Avid NewsCutter v7.5.x and higher using the versioner.avd file must update the dongle using Dongle Manager v7.0.2. If you choose to update the dongle before installing the v3.5.x/7.5.x or higher editor, download the latest version of Dongle Manager (v7.0.2)
