If the mounts are functioning now as stated, the only reason to not include how they are controlled is because that function is not ready at least enough for us to be informed. Just wondering if I could get a general idea.
Also, something about touch screen focusing. I recall something about this somewhere in memory but controlling canon/nikon lenses this way would seem pretty fascinating/complicated; as if anything in this field is not.
The Redmote ( or multiple Redmote's) can control focus.. if you want it to.
And on the fixed 8x lens.. remember the ring on the lens is electronic. Which means you can program it to control focus. or iris. or zoom. Some people might want to touch focus or auto focus and use that ring for zoom control. Some might not. The choice is yours.
the one problem i have is that i've used fly-by-wire before with early olympus SLR's and at least in that case the manual focus was unresponsive and didn't have physical feedback that you get with manual lenses.
I'm not saying that the scarlet hasn't addressed these issues just that i'm concerned, especially since i'm pretty sure hard stops will not be possible.
One other question is will there be a good Peaking option or other focus assist's on-screen? I've not used a RED personally so i'm unaware as to what options are available in this regard.
I plan on a detachable scarlet, but was really looking to a fix for all the close up action and leave my detachable with canon tele's on it.
Would love clarification how this work. I'm sure my need are addressed, either on the side handle or something I've missed. Maybe the lens is control by a pair of oakley glasses like chopper pilots. That would be cool.
A little late but...
can i tattooed??
great work guys
Very nice photos Jarred!!
Needless to say... RED rocks
I for one, am very pleased with the lens design of the fixed scarlet. I think it hits a perfect middle-ground, simple enough for consumer use and complex enough for a professional. I was originally planning on only getting a FF35 and a S35, but i think i might have to add a third scarlet to that list.
