Well Jim, up until now I never wanted a tattoo.
but as you say "Everything in life changes..."
Jarred,
Can the PL mount still be shimmed?
The tolerance would have to be pretty tight to make focus perfect on every brain.
David
If I remember correctly, Jim stated as some point that Fixed means Fixed, aka cannot be removed. The Fixed 2/3" has a slightly larger body than the Cinema 2/3" to account for the fly-by-wire controls and other features that differentiate the camera from it's un-fixed brother.
From what I read:
You choose a stage.
Stage one : if they let you
Stage 2 or 3 if you bought a camera before yesterday.
Stage four if you buy buy one after today, or just want to buy outright.
The Tattoos do come with modules, it says so in the announcement.
IF you waited to buy till after yesterday then you will only get a 17,500$ credit towards a epic s35 brain at full $28k with no modules.
Whatever stage you chose to be in, once they notify you that your order is ready, you THEN have 30 days to execute or lose you place and upgrade path.
Thats is what I read.
Also from what I have heard and see in the annoucment, the pl mount does not need to shim as the sensor will do the shimming from the mount.
Next, for all the people complaining about scarlet and being shut out from the boys club. This trade-in program is for the Epic-X. They have not announced how the scarlet line will be distributed. RELAX and wait a month to find out.
is the 3 axis gyro meant to have enough precision for camera tracking....
if so that is one of the best ideas I have ever seen...embedded in the r3d and coupled with lens data that would make tracking bulletproof and this would be the CG post dream camera...
Specs look amazing, fantastic. Program looks amazing.
My question is, there is no direct upgrade to Epic FF35 (or 617, 645, etc.) listed...but we need to make a determination of which stage we're selecting only 30 days after notification.
So these are not included as options in the upgrade program? Or will these be moved along by then and included as options with appropriate pricing? Or am I missing something?
