Bomb EVF availability? Have I missed this? It's already in beta so should be available soon. Sorry if this has been answered. Only have an iPhone currently.

    Why,

As an R1 owner you get an EPIC-X version of an R1 for $10.5K. If you did not own a RED One, you could buy the brain for 28K.

    You feel cheated?

    I'm confused....

Whoa - that sounds DANGEROUS... Anxious to see how that's done. Is that something that can be done by the user? :-/

That 5-axis sensor adjustment is a huge deal. Back-focus has been our #1 problem with RED One - even after overhauls on both our bodies.

I can feel my days of excuse-making and beta-camera-buck-passing rapidly drawing to a close....until I get my Tattoo :)

    thanks jim

Yeah, I can't believe all the stuff that's included in Stage three. It seems like Epic-X is shootable right out of the box. It is mighty generous of RED. Thanks!

    M Hsu....

Yes, I am very happy with the "reward"! As long as we get to choose when to exercise the option choice:) If I can swing it (translated: start earning $$ with my Red) then I will go for curtain #2, with the sensor upgrade for my Red at some point.

Any news about the Red FF Electronic Lenses? Should we not expect those 'til the FF35 brains roll around?

When I joined this forum, I had absolutely no idea about the various work flows and file formats in the RED universe, but in my first post ever I was wondering if the metadata in the file format could be enhanced to include motion data for image stabilization and camera tracking purposes in the post production.

I got a lot of the technical terms wrong, but you get my drift.

Not sure if today's announcement about enhanced metadata and motion sensors have anything to do with this. I can think of a dozen other uses for them as well.

FWIW Tony several Sony cameras move the sensor to adjust back focus.

    More generally...

I'm a happy boy, thanks Red, at 1644 I likely won't get a chance to be in the beta pool, but look forward to Stage 2.

    Cheers, and congrats,

    Steve
