    Red Team,
Has any thought been given to how "open" the Tattoo program would be?
I'm not expecting to be asked (nor do I think it would be the wisest financial move for my situation) but I'd be keen on a little peek behind the curtain as it were.
Will the Tattoo folks be allowed some discretion to post stills or features that are works-in-progress?
There may be some valuable input from the larger community (of course, along with lots of noise to sift through)
    Just wondering...
    Cheers,
    Harry

Another thing to consider here is how many different ways that single ring could be used. What if it were tied to a rocker switch or other buttons to toggle functionality? For example, push down on one half of the rocker and the ring controls zoom, push down the other side of the rocker and it's iris, neutral position is focus. What if that is only one method and all different approaches can be user-defined?

Personally, I'd like to have my iris on a dial, zoom on a rocker and leave the ring for focus. At least for a compact 2/3" camera that would suit me just fine in most situations.

(This may have been answered already. Sorry if it has been.)
What sort of lens mount (if any,) comes with the scarlet? Particularly the 2/3 interchangeable and the FF35.
Nothing clever or informative here... move along.

I'm assuming but it always seems the case...PL Mount is the standard that it comes with...interchangeable mounts are possible
ASSUMING HERE...not sure with the 2/3 though...

Jarred said in I beleive post 859 of this thread that brains come standard with pl mount and you only pay extra if you want to get the nikon, red, or canon electronic lens mounts. (subject to change of course)

There was no mention of C mounts, which would be non electronic as well, being an option. Also there has been no price listed for a b4 mount or adapter price for the epic/scarlet system, but due I would assume it would be priced similar to the current RED b4 adapter - $3500.

    edit: found the quote

Unlikely that the Scarlet B4 mount will cost more than the other mounts ($500.00) and it should come standard on the 2/3" Scarlet. The current B4 adapter has lenses to convert the image to 2K, not needed on the Scarlet.

    Hey Steve-
Sorry to disappoint, but the B4 will be significantly more than the Nikon etc. mounts most likely. Broadcast ENG lenses are designed for 3 chip cameras, and thus focus each color of light differently. Since Scarlet (and all REDs) are single chip CMOS, this quality must be corrected optically, and thus a more expensive adapter. Now, RED's smart and may be able to find a way around this, but for budget concerns, I wouldn't necessarily count on it.
    Peace,

    -Harry

There's only an Electonic Nikon mount. (Well, except for the dumb mount on the RED one, but we're talking DSMC here.) The Nikon, as well as Canon mounts, are both electronic and each $500 according to the latest announcement.
    Peace,

    -Harry
