Jarred, on the contrary, I will definetly need the AF many times, but some other times I need manual control. But thanks for clarifying the many "on body" possibilities for controlling and assigning functions.

Hey Jarred, will the MX sensor upgrades for the R1 also go in order of serial/delivery number?
I'm pretty sure he means the latter (i.e. referring to the 2/3" Interchangeable). Jarred?
IMHO, he should probably clear this up before it starts making the rounds and becomes the subject of another "But you promised us this!!!" thread in the future.

yeh I'm sure its a typo
instead of 'removable fixed 2/3 version' I am sure didn't meant to include the word fixed
Jarred meant 2/3" interchangeable.
Jim
Hi Jim: sorry about this change of subject, it's regarding future payment. Here in Venezuela we are not allowed to use more than 2500 $ on credit cards a year. Imagine !! This means I have to fly my wife so we can both pay for the Scarlet on the spot where you guys have a credit card point. (We can't just give you the number, we have to swear under oath that we are actually travelling somewhere...) I know this sounds ridiculous. Will that have to be at your Red Offices in L.A., or somewhere else?
I hear ya, I'm studying filmmaking here at Argentina right now. The credit card doesnt work at all (and have 1000 left). And fear that this month (and to be applied for next year) there will be a new providence for CADIVI where you'll only get the whole 2500 in USA (ARUBA for example 800 maximun) if you travel for more than 30 days.
Lucky me I bought a Sony fx-1000 last year and will sell it here, exchange that for dollars and save some money. Pay my ticket to red with dolar paralelo :) and co-pay with cash and credit card
I know there are many Venezuelan RedOwners, I worked one as aprendiz in a red short over there. I wonder the answer to your question, do we have to fly to Lake forest, is there a problem on paying on a not online system?
By the way. I always read quietly keeping track of this company and dont exchange a lot of comments. The "amazed" level is always changing for better. Since I'm talking now I think I should also say: Wow, thank you for your vision. It is really something that people will teach on "history class" on filmschool years from now. And your company spirit is more than an example for all those independent companies who also just doesnt want to work with someone with a bad attitude. Keep the amazing job. I feel very lucky to be a filmmaker on this times of change and real red revolution. THANK YOU. From Argentina a Venezuelan! Hope to meet you guys some day

Obviously I can't speak for Jim or RED, but as I remember when RED Ones were becoming available RED actually required payment via wire transfer past the first $7,500. So you could pay directly via bank wire transfer instead of credit card, assuming that is allowed in your country.
Since I believe Scarlet will commonly sell for less than $7,500, I assume many people will use their credit cards to pay for it. But I'm sure there will still be a wire transfer option. RED would generally prefer the wire transfer anyway since fees for receiving transferred money (if charged at all) are much lower than credit card charges. It actually costs the merchant about 3% of the charge amount to accept cards, and for the amounts we're talking about here, that's a significant amount.
If you can only get your money out of your country by travelling outside of your country, I'm wondering how you could afford anything based in the USA, since travel for long periods here is extremely expensive unless you know people you can stay with. Sounds like a hideous pain.
I'm hoping that due to the less common nature of wire transfers they might be less policed then credit cards.
Hope that helps.
