Hey guys. I have several hours of interview footage. I shot in 3K, dragged the _M proxies into Final Cut, and used Video Filter to add timecode burn-in to the footage. I choose clips out of the timeline and send to Compressor to make mpeg-2 for DVD. Some clips have worked fine. The two longest clips keep failing. They are around an hour long. I tried exporting pieces at a time, but no luck yet. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Julio

i'd use redrushes...i'm not sure why anyone uses proxies with compressor anymore. If you're just going to mpeg-2 anyway, you can make fast transcodes...i'd transcode the longer files, because the spanned clips are undoubtedly the culprit.

come to think of it, i encountered that same problem a long time ago- balky spanned clips in a proxy timeline - and solved it by transcoding, though the tools for that are much better than they were when red first came out...

Thanks Meryem. I was trying to avoid transcoding due to time constraints, but I might have to do that. If anyone else can think of a quick proxy solution, please let me know.

In case anyone is curious, I solved the problem by creating a new Proxy Quicktime in Red Alert, overwriting the original one in my R3D folder.
