Maybe the script could be created and saved to an SD card? Then you could have scripts to remove all the wear and tear on that joystick and drilling down into so many menus just to make simple changes.

Perfect for the Red One... makes sense to me, and it would be great if it is possible.

But I'm hoping that Red is considering this basic, common-sense functionality with the next generation of cameras that we'll hopefully be shooting on for a lot longer. It's not "geewiz" stuff - like internal Gyros, GPS, etc, but it's actually far more useful for most shots on most days.

I agree. I'd love to see this implemented in the RED ONE now. I think that the software with the touchscreen on the epic will be more elegant than the current flowchart style, joystick navigation, lots of clicking of the RED ONE.

Wondering if any progress has been made on this, for Epic, especially.

Or...save a MODE which defines all the camera settings you need and just use touchscreen for MENU/MODE/4K_16:9_24p_...etc....takes three taps on the touchscreen - cca. 2 sec. procedure.

That's what touchscreen is for - non-linear access. No actions or scripts necessary, IMO.
