Bakur - it's for the Cooke S4i lenses. Camera will display lens information for the S4i Cookes - similar to the ipin data from the red zooms, etc.

But I don't think it is enabled by default. You have to go into the camera preferences to turn it on.

    System > Setup > Remote -- S4i Lens
System > Setup > Preferences > Display -- Lens Data

We do own Cooke S4 lenses. And I have all the menu enabled. But no information is displayed on screen. Do I need any additional equipment for this data to be displayed? Cables maybe? Or these are several pins that are next to sensor (on the upper side of lens mount on the camera) and I do not need anything else, except proper lenses.

Was Your camera sent in for the audio-board/iPin (FREE) upgrade?
That's the only thing I can think off...

you need to update your cooke lenses firmware. Cooke makes a USB cable that plugs into the lemo connector on each lens. If you are a legitimate owner of Cooke lenses, you will be emailed a link to the upgrade area so you can do it yourself or just send them to ZGC for upgrade.

We have purchased cameras and lenses 2 months ago maximum. Lenses are straight from Cooke. Do you think we still need any updates?

Possibly. It depends on when they were manufactured. The best way to tell is to hook them up and see. You'll need a Windows PC and the serial cable from ZGC. Les periodically emails us with updates to the firmware to keep everything current. Check with Cooke/ZGC if you're not sure. They'll be able to help.

You do need the specific firmware build loaded into the Cooke lenses.

I have upgraded the fleet of Red Ones and have my Cooke s4/i enabled, but I don't know where the lens data is stored in the metadata and whether it's available. Any ideas if the data is available and how to access it.

    Cheers,

    Richard

Peter you need a 250.00 dollar lemo to serial computer cable (PC) from ZGC. The cable will be able to update the latest firmware from Cooke. Contact Cooke for access to the latest firmware. Upgrade the lenses with newer firmware, I believe it's 0.39. The Red will see your Cookes, still trying to get information from Red about lens metadata and how to access it.
