Scarlet is so damned petite set against the Nikon-
it looks about the same size as a Rolleiflex; hard to
believe it packs such a wallop. And those mini primes: wow.
Can't imagine what Epic will unleash. Very generous.
    Thank you.

Jarred: for those of us with existing 2/3" glass who'd like to have the option to occasionally use the baby Scarlet for ENG/EFP style work, will there be a way to mount B4 lenses? Admittedly the image quality is inferior to primes, but there are plenty of times where I use the full 18x range of a B4 zoom (or even 36x with extender).

I'll take you up on the offer to see the new lenses on a projector... will be in CA soon & will call about that. Thanks for all the hard work, guys!
Let me know when you are in town Scott.

And since the mount is interchangeable, there will be many options available... we are still deciding which ones to come out with first.

    Interesting. I'll try it up.

WAAS is a speculation at this point. Even "compass" was not specified. The post from Jarred state:

I think the oled you are referring to is only going to be on the RED Electronic lenses

So let me see if I've got this right.

The normal Redmote will still have a ring on it to control focus wirelessly?

I have to say I am absolutely IN LOVE with the Redmote Pro, it just might be a hair over my price range so I was wondering if there was a less awesome function on the regular Redmote.

Why does the camera with no lens work out to cost more than the one that comes with a lens? Is there a list that compares the fixed and interchangeable prices differences? First off I'm going to guess the lens isn't the only difference.

Can somebody smarter than me clear this up?

(BTW this is NOT a complaint, I'm very pleased with the announcement)
    redmote - 550
    side cf module - 500
    2.8" screen - 800

    thats all 1850 together

then it says redvolt battery. I used to be under the impression you needed the module adapter and the battery module to use batteries if you didn't have the side handle. It seems they have given you the option of putting a redvolt right into the brain. Of course I could be wrong.

    That being said 4750 - 1850 =2900 for the cost of a brain+awesome zoom lens + battery

    An awesome deal.

the cinema is 2750 which if you add the same accessories (1850) is 4600 and that is before the cost of the battery module (1000 with 2 batts) which brins it to 5600 and the module adapter (300) which brings it to 5900 and then of course a lens (at least 1000 for a good zoom)

6900 for a full functioning camera before media including power with the option of interchangeable lenses rather than 4750 for the fixed.

In my mind the cinema version at this price with these specs allows you more flexibility for adding batteries, of course lenses, and other modules. You are paying for options here.

Also the 4750 fixed is a kit. I am sure they knocked the price down for the kit compared to building your own camera from scratch

Is there a big difference between the X-Sync speed between the Scarlet and EPIC? CMOS tend to have lower X-Sync speeds as a rule anyway don't they?

    Jarred,

Can you please remove the "BOMB" from the side of the EVF. I don't want to even deal with the airports with something labeled "Bomb" on the side of it. AIRPORTS and the word "BOMB" don't mix. Sorry but it will certainly drive a lot of people nuts.

Correct.. there is a rotational ring on the normal redmote, and on the side handle as well, that can be programmed for either function.

Would the 2/3 Scarlet with Mini Primes (or even fixed lens for that matter) have depth of field similar to 35mm with larger lenses, or will it be more along the lines of what conventional video cameras with similar sized sensors are capable of?
