    The post from Jarred stated:

"3-axis internal motion sensor and GPS latitude / longitude data"
...the 3-axis accelerometer data is captured each frame, so we can extract the camera's 3D orientation from that, and
this is complemented by the GPS data which acts as a time / location reference.

Well, if u walk into walmart/brookstone you will notice lots of charging pads for sale that charge devices by induction... which is essentially wireless :)

I'm just pumped that I could get a fixed scarlet and then sell the brain/lens down the road but keep the modules. Easy way to switch to interchangeable.

Can you confirm that it include a compass for absolute heading vs relative heading only if a compass is not present.

I have been trying to plan costs for the cinema for months, here is what I have as of now for what I want and what I can tell might be necessary

    2/3" Cinema Brain - $2750
    Side CF Module - $500
    RedMote - $550
    Scarlet Module Adapter - $300
    Battery Module + 2 Batts - $1000
    ikan 5.6" HD monitor kit - $800

all together that comes to $5720. But hold on

You can find good zooms and have them converted to pl via an adapter for 1500 to get you started with a lens (total $7720)

bare minimum you need a 16GB CF Card $500 (total $8220)

There you are good to shoot and you have a battery option that has more options than the side handle would

But if you get the bundle of cards you save 600 in the longrun so I would say get the bundle of 4 for a total of $9120

And about the monitor. It is a 5.6" HD monitor you can run off the brains HDMI source. I think a bigger monitor is important because of focusing with such Hi-res cameras. Also this kit comes with everything you need to power and mount your monitor to your camera

You could do a whole lot with the fixed lens cam which I see as being great as a prosumer gig for 4750 (cheaper than an hpx) or even as a studio b cam.

Of course you could pimp it out but I would buy a cinema model and pimp that out before ever getting the fixed.

For example, with the side handle+battery+sidecfmodule+miniprime/cmountlens+1cf card you already have a smaller camera to use as a crash or POV cam than you could with fixed

also, you could use professional lenses like ultra primes from arri or maybe even miniprimes (cant wait to see quality) and turn this thing into a studio production monster.

You will never be able to increase the speed of the fixed lens zoom, but if you need faster lenses than you currently have, and they are in existence, you will at least in theory have the option to buy or rent them for your cam (if not in financial reality)

I have mentioned certain monitoring options in my different posts and I just want to say for the record that I am not trying to push one option over the other just that is what I found to fit my budget. I am sure the 2.8" screen is awesome, but I need something larger, and due to how ancient the lenses I use will be touch focus is not even an option for me.

    thanks

....though if I get some extra dough the 5"LCD with a lemo connection will be much more appetizing than a loosey goosey hdmi connection for run and gun

Guys just wanted to know... do Red One owners get first option when it comes buying Scarlet?

I couldn't be more pleased with the time table for release, I was actually expecting winter next year. And the price, you all had me scared last month, I'm dancing in circles here.

    Okey now the questions.

Touch LCD screen... is there a way to run that detached from the main body of the camera, either wired or wirelessly?

Removable fan tray with changeable cleanable filters... What size, how many does it hold, and how the heck did you fit that in there?

Aluminum or Magnesium... errm what's the difference, is this just style or is there a purpose? (Don't look at me like that, all the video camera's I've ever used have been plastic =)

I can't wait to get my hands on the full information of all the modules so I can start planning my package. I haven't wanted to build something this bad sense I was 6, forget the other camera makers, Red is poised to beat the snot out of LEGO!

    Great job people.

Ultimately I would like to have one of each, a fixed and a cinema. They would complement each other nicely.
