I don't think there is a lot of room for discounts on these prices.
But I think there's a very simple solution that will get you what you need and at a great price, too.
Buy the Scarlet fixed kit, which includes the lens and enormously discounted accessories.
Buy the Scarlet 2/3 interchangable brain.
You then have two brains - one fixed and one interchangeable - with all the accessories you need to make either one work.
I think it's pretty much a certainty that you would have saved more than $1k on accessories this way, so effectively you have purchased the fixed lens for $2k or less.
A little bit of lateral thinking works wonders :-).

Fantastic announcement as usual. You should really do this every last of the month. So good for liveliness.
I try to read as many posts as possible but couldn't see this already mentioned.
Mini primes are gorgeous.
But am I alone thinking a key lens is missing?
The one right in the middle between 8mm and 16mm?
.
Something small but very useful: I bet Zacuto or others will come up with Red Mote to rail support. Some sort of cradle that allows us to attach the Red Mote to a tripod handle or the side of our rails to use as a "normal" follow focus.
Any chance Red might develop their own little RedMote to rails solution?
Trying to find this info but the thread is already huge.
Will the fixed-lens Scarlet body include a microphone? (even if it's low quality)
It would make sense, given that the package is supposed to be ready to shoot out of the box.
Thirded. I would really appreciate screen grabs shot of ordinary subjects in available light. I know there's a temptation to offer up the best shots posible, but a shot with very dramatic lighting or an exotic pet is hard to judge and only prompts 10 pages of the 'what lens/lights/yadda yadda' variety.
Might I suggest a medium closeup of Jim lighting a cigar? That would give us skin tones, smoke, a feel for focal depth, and highlights from the match or lighter flame, and a feel for graduated color, depending on the background (an office wall or a blue sky). Simple subject matter is the best way to showcase image quality I think, as it's easy for people to compare with how things look in real life.
Good point, David. Reading that whole post closely Jarred never says it is included. Most likely they haven't decided yet.
