I don't think so, 3-chip 2/3" cams will have a much deeper back-focus to accommodate the prism block.

I seriously doubt it - apart from the optical differences between lenses designed for 3 chip lenses, as David mentioned, the mount is also completely different (the primes are a Mini-PL mount).

    Guys, thank you very much.

So May-June for the 2/3" Scarlet, will that most likely mean closer to June? The only reason why I ask is I have a time sensitive project that will begin in May and I would prefer to use the Scarlet, but if that's not possible I may go 7D.

You'd do better do plan with the 7D, and if the Scarlet happens to arrive in your hands, only then should you plan to go with the Scarlet. Don't plan to use the Scarlet even if there is a specific date that the Scarlet will be released. Anything can happen, things are subject to change at all times.

I hope the scarlet 2/3 Fixed will come out in May or June. I will be in Greece in July and it would be realy nice to test and try out the camera there.
For me 2/3 is pretty ok for the beginning.
If i can change the brain later an keep the rest, everything would be perfect. And as far as i understand it, i first can by the 2/3 fixed-lens-Scarlet and later i buy the s35-brain an use that instead of the fixed-lens-brain. Is that right?

I believe that is right and one of THE most amazing aspects of this camera system. Initially I wasn't going to go with the fixed, but then, I had the same epiphany. I can replace the brain and lens only down the road. Talk about investment protection.

That was great! Nice to see it actually being waved around. As much as I love the stylized renders and photos, this makes it feel so much more real...
