    Stuart is it then possible to have a hard wire between the camera and redmote? Would be very helpful for underwater work as RF doesn't go through water well. It would be nice to have it outside the housing in a separate box with hardwire into housing and camera.
    I'm sure that something could be worked out. But it's not something that's planned for initial release.

    We know that a module can be moved off-body via cable, so theoretically couldn't you just have one of the smaller modules (like CF or SSD) tethered and clip the REDmote to the back? Stuart?

    Well it's an underwater issue, so the most appropriate answer to remote camera control may be found elsewhere.

    I have been keeping up with all of the info as diligently as I can, but it is a little difficult, so forgive me if this has already been asked.

    I was wondering if the RedMote's specific wireless connection would ever be opened up in an SDK? The reason why I ask is that it would be awesome to be able to control not only the zoom, iris, and aperture wirelessly with the RedMote, but convergence on a custom rig you could build.

    There is huge unexplored territory in the fields of stereoscopic cinema and computer vision, and the RedMote would be a wonderful tool if we could have 3rd party access to it, especially in regards to fly0-by-wire and the fixed Scarlet. :}

    The same things you can control from REDmote can also be controlled over wifi or gige with a simple protocol.

    Wel, there IS a crop factor compared to 35mm ('FF35').

    DX lenses are made smaller (don't cover 'FF35') to save money, but they're still NAMED in FF35 terms (not sure why Nikon did this!!).

    In other words, even though it doesn't cover 'FF35,' the 17-55 has the same ~1.52x crop factor on DX cameras as all 'FF35' lenses.

    So the 17-55 on a DX camera is about equivalent to a 26-84 on a FF35 camera.

    However, you're right in that between a DX camera and an S35 camera there will be little difference.

    HOWEVER, since Red S35 is slightly larger than Nikon DX, I'm not sure DX-format lenses will cover it.

    My GUI suggestion is something you guys have probably already thought of, but just in case : the ability to change the fonts on that top bar.

    Those big huge boxes are great for a 2.8" screen but are wasted real estate on bigger screens.

    In fact, I'd like to be able to hide that bar altogether for a bigger image preview. The only time I need to see that info is when I'm setting/changing it.

    I know shrinking or removing that bar would change the aspect ratio and reduce "look-around" but I don't need that either. And if you do, just don't use my option :)
